Atlanta Smiles Foundation Chosen For Local Philanthropy
ATLANTA (March 16) – Here ye, here ye! The Atlanta Smiles Foundation has been chosen as the 2009 charitable organization for April Miller’s annual Princess Party in September.
“We are honored to be the chosen charity this year,” responded Dr. Dina Giesler, founder of the Atlanta Smiles Foundation, “We couldn’t be surrounded by more beautiful supporters.”
The Princess Party all began when Miller, a local philanthropist, decided to hold a small dinner party to celebrate her birthday; Miller’s birthday just so happened to fall the day after Princess Diana’s. To add another dynamic to the occasion, Miller decided to have guests give to a charity of their choice.
Each year a different non-profit organization is chosen. Previously selected were Susan G. Komen and Beauty Becomes You. There are no criteria for which charity is chosen, but rather the sentimental value it pulls.
Little did she know that get-together would spark an annual women’s benefit that friends and family look forward to every year. “What a better way to celebrate than to top it off with a tiara,” Miller snickered with a smile.
Yearly, Miller’s fundraiser raises more than $15,000 and she expects nothing less as each year approaches. With trumpets and tiaras in attendance, many lives are touched by this annual affair.
